Overview

A deep dive into urbanisation principles, frameworks (TOGAF, ArchiMate) and modern architecture patterns to build a coherent, scalable and interoperable IS.

Learning objectives

  • Understand and apply IS urbanisation principles
  • Master enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, ArchiMate)
  • Design a target IS architecture aligned with business strategy
  • Manage interfaces, APIs and interoperability between systems

Detailed programme

01

IS Urbanisation: principles and frameworks

3h

IS urbanisation concepts: zones, islands, functional blocks. Application and functional mapping. Business process repository. IS / strategy alignment. TOGAF and ArchiMate.

02

Enterprise architecture and patterns

4h

The 4 architecture layers (Business, Application, Data, Infrastructure). Architectural patterns: SOA, microservices, event-driven. Hexagonal architecture and DDD. ArchiMate workshop.

03

API Management & Interoperability

4h

API ecosystem: REST, GraphQL, SOAP, AsyncAPI. API strategy and governance. ESB vs API Gateway. Security (OAuth2, OpenID Connect). Practical case: designing an API layer.

04

Target architecture & IS governance

3h

Target architecture construction approach. As-Is to To-Be transformation plan. Architecture committee and governance. KPIs (availability, scalability, security).

Evaluation & follow-up

Initial positioning test. Graded modelling workshop (ArchiMate). Post-session satisfaction questionnaire. Individual attendance certificate.

Pedagogical resources

ArchiMate tools (Archi / Enterprise Architect — demo version). Real IS mapping cases (Tunisia Customs, GAT Insurance, FTUSA). PDF materials.

Trainer qualification

Certified IS Urbanist and Architect, 20+ years of experience on large-scale IS programmes (>€7M). Operational mastery of TOGAF, ArchiMate, UML, API Management.
